Don't be mistaken...i'm guilty of doing this too. Especially when i was younger...I'll keep so many things...a little bit of a nerd really. I tried to forget the angsana tree hair and the big "snoopy" glasses, and all the nerdy things i wish to forsake.
Can't.....This nerd KEPT those things.
Yups. I found the collection of first day covers (envelopes with stamps on it), the usual stamps (don't lie, you had them too), intricate chinese paper cuttings, a big arse collection of velvety and "special" pencils, not to mention my extra large collection of...ahem...erasers.
Yes, I have them all.
Now, at this point of my life, i realised that unless these things
disintegrate with the passing of time, they will always, always be just sitting there, until i make it a family heirloom and pass them down to my children. (Don't laugh. The first day covers would probably be worth something.)
I have a new policy these days. I have decided that, using these things, like the pencils and the erasers, they serve a purpose. Then let them serve their function. The chinese paper cuttings i'll offer to my dad and frame them up, and sell the stamps and first day covers when my kids get older and require a college fund.
But before all that, gotta take a picture of all of this, in memory of my past.
My, junk, my junk, mylovelylittlejunk.

These are the memories that I wanna preserve and keep just the way they are.
